Final Session!!!

In this final session I will going to talk about my experience whit the blog. Inever had a blog because I tought they are bored, then when the miss spoke abouth the blog in class I said: I dont like this. 

This is the first time that I see the blogs in a subjects, because that almost all class are in the classroom. I like this experiencie I feel that the class is more short, and more entertaining. Also I think is the best way to put into practice what we learn in class, because we can learn the rules of English, but we know how to express what we mean. In adittion, the correction made for the miss helped to know the errors which we did, and we can correct this

I think it helped us learn more connectors because we always use them, and we must be careful with the verbs. I didn´t find downside, I find it entertaining, dynamic, helps us to practice writing, forcing us to read what others write, maybe something could be improved but that is not related to the blog, is the oral practice, I think our biggest weakness is that.

I like this experiencie because, helped me to write and improve about a topic.

Thats all I have to say, and we see the next year =)

  

My Ideal Holidays

Every year I work two months or more for I have money for my vacationes, but the problem is the time left is not much. For this one of characterisc to have a ideal holidays is have more weeks for travel to many places, and dont worried for the time.

There are many place that  I would like to know, but there one I've always wanted to know. This place is Island of Pascua, which is a chilean island located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. In this place the people maintains their traditions and his culture is very rich. The landscape is very beautiful because is not significantly modified or contaminated, because is very far from the continent. One of most tourist attractions is the moais, because are constructions very old and big, but anyone know how the people made this things, and the volcano.

I will like to travel whit my boyfriend or a friend, only one o the people. I preferied not much people because is more easy for the organization.

My Favourite Picture

Mi favourite picture is whit my sister the day when she born. This photo was taken by my father on the Clinic. I love it but I dont have on digital for show it. For this I will talk about about a photo  not very nice but whit a history very funny.

Pictured below is me and two friends  (We dont see good jajaja) before a match game between Chile and Spain for World Cup Southafric 2010. Whit 3 friends and the father of one of them went to saw the game on  "La Nona" a bar in Bellavista. On this game Chile lost, but clasify for the next stage. We was very sad, but very happy for the classification...then we decide go to celebrate to "Plaza Italia" (a very important square), we jumped, and sing.

But one of my friends didn´t realize that he lost the cellphone of the office, when she note this we started began to look between all the people (much people celebrate) and called for our cellphone. 

Before to look, we saw a policeman laugh of us...then we knew that he has the cellphone =).

We thanked for return and we take a picture whit him because never again will found something in this square whit a lot people

My best place to eat

Today I´m going to talk about mi favourite place to eat. Is very difficult for me choice a place for eat, because I love food and exist many place that like me.

First, I recommends two different place and finally I will talk about my favourite place.

One place is in Caldera, next to the square from this city. Is name is Empanatodo, and they have all types for this food. An other place is Piccola Italia, here offer different types of pasta and is not expensive. They have a disch that has several kinds of pasta, on the manu say 'for two but eat three' and this is true. Is so delicious. The main disadvantage of is once went on television for unhygienic. This local is in several parts of Santiago, there one on Providencia (Los Leones), other on Quilicura next to road. In spite of, is in many place is more for special ocasion, is not a place for to lunch aech day.

Finally, a place where I´m go very often is Mc´Donalds. I believe this place is great, because is fast, not expensive and the food is very good. I always go to the Mc´Donalds that is in Alameda whit Mac Iver or which is outside of station Los Leones.  Mi favourite food is The Big Tasty, is the better burguer, this have drink and chips, and his principal part is his salsa. This local is ideal for eat before to the party. However many people doesn´t like because is de bigger simbol of culture from U.S, but the most thing there are, so I dont care.

The stereotypes in the FAU

This topic is very funny because in our faculty there are differents types of students, because the careers that there are very different between that (geography, architecture and design)

In the faculty few students knows about geography because we are very few compared whit the architects and designer. Almost the students see the geographers like people a little "hippie" and nature lovers, also they think that we are always ready for go to the site. Other things that I´ve heard is the geographer only paint maps on the map library.

Whit respect to the architects, they always have a rule and many pencils, and their models cant not miss. The geographers always say that the architects are more "pelolais". 

And finally the designer...they are crazy, are the most  extravagant people in the FAU, and the Titanic (your sector in the Faculty) always have something different, because they exposed his works here. Many times they  invade all the school whit his jobs.

Is very easy to identify which career each students belongs, because the stereotypes and the way the dress. In this picture is easy to guess which is which.

Google is Great

There are many piece technologic that I used every day, like the computer, mp3, my cellphone, etc, if I don´t have one of this thing I didn´t cant to do many activities. But one of the things (its not a thing really) that I think is great this GOOGLE...everithing is in Google.

When I think on the internet, think in this page, is the begining page in my laptop. This page of internet I use for to do my homework, study, find movies, reed the news, find and other page, etc. I always say: ´If doesn´t in Google then doesn´t exist ´. Google always find that I seek. For the students is a page very very important because is here where they find the information for your homeworks and paper. I think that before to go to the library they seek on the internet by  this page, and then the go to the library for the fail.

Google is more that a simple search, because have a translate (this help so much whit the text in english that I have to read for my class), them is google maps, a search for image and books, and finally Google Chrome a browser for internet. Even have your on verb :´googlear´

“The War of the Buttons”

My favourite movie is “The War of the Buttons”. This movie I  saw several years ago on the tv in my house. And I seen many times. Now I will tell you the general characteristics of this movie, but I prefer that you see it, for this I will don´t tell you many details.

This movie is based on a 1912 French novel by Louis Pergaud, Is about two rival kid gangs in Ireland, the Ballys (the poor), and the Carricks (the rich). They live in two different towns, which is one next the other, but separated whit a river only the brave young dare cross. The history related the social class struggle between they and how they compet they compete for are the better in all, they didn´t know why fight because always they have.

The protagonists are the leaders of this two kangs: Fergus, leader of the Ballys; son of a family very pour, he is not a good student and live whit his mother and his father(an abusive man). The leader of the Carricks is Jerome son of a wealthy family and a father very strict. The story related all battles between this gangs and how they win their trophies…the buttons of clothes of the rivals. This because the buttons are expensive (for them) and because to get home receive punishment from their parents.

My Vacations

This is something very interesting, because I like travel very very much. On this post I would tell us about two holidays important to me: The first is mi trip to Chiloé, and the second is mi trip to the north of Chile.

The year 2009 with my boyfriend  we decided travel together whit a two friends to Chiloé. The first thing was do was work
between december to february for join some of money. This trip was very special because went to Ahuenco, this is a private park where don´t arrive much people because is very difficult the way.
We travel from Santiago to Puerto  Montt in a bus, and later went Chiloé, from here we travel to a town for to rent a launch for to cross the river; and finally we walked one day on the Forest Valdivian. This was great, the place is wonderful; but we don´t have a water and bathroom, and we got caught in the rain very strong...all this  not was a problem for us, everthing was magnific.

Here we saw the pinguins of Humbolt, on the little island next Chiloé. The next days we traveled the rest of the island, for example: Castro, Cucao, Chonchi, etc.

The second travel important I did on February  this year; whit my boyfriend, your sister and boyfriend´s. We went to San Peter of Atacama, Arica, Tacna and Iquique. We want to know San Peter and Machu Picchu but a few weeks before this was affected for many rains and was closed, for this we change the rout. This trip was very funny a we knew many places diferents.

This year we would go to Punta Arenas, and we want to Know The Towers of Paine . I hope this travel will be good like the others

Idol of Geography???

The truth is I don´t have any idol relation wiht my carrer, and any idol whit another topic. But on my school there are many teachers very very good, but I think that they are not specialists on the area that like my: Natural Hazards, maybe they are...but I dont know.

Actually, the profesional that most like me; is a Teacher of the Catolic University, Marcelo Lagos. He study the natural hazards and like this affect the people and the citys. He investigate about heartquake and tsunami in Chile and he is a profesional more important about this phenomenon.

Yours publications more important are publish on the magazine: The Big North of the Catolic University, The Electronic Magazin of Geography and Social Sciences, Magazine Geographic of Chile Terra Australis. On this show the risks of a bad planification in our country, I think that is very important because our country always suffer this kind of thing, and we will be prepare for the worst.

Finally, a will like to say, that is not my idol. I think there are many people very inteligent in the geography  but I dont know all the investigators,

Earthquake February 27, 2010

For the February 27 of this year, I was enjoy my last day of holidays with my boyfriend and two friends in Iquique, region of Tarapacá. Therefore I didn´t feel anything but was scare after because my family was on Santiago.
That day we went to sleep late, because was visit a friend in your house. The mam to my boyfriend called for tall us that what happen in Santiago about to 5 on the mornig; and she tall us the the Eaethquake was 8.8. We scared so much, and I tried call to my family for to know as were. When talked whit my mam, she cry and my too, because bouth was very nervous; but I felt good that to know as were.
When started listen to the radio, we knew that the earthquake was very very big. On the mornig in the news saw that the airport was broken, therefore we didn´t travel because the flys was canceled.
We try to find other way for travel to our home, agencies, contacts, bus, etc. But we found two pasage for travel by bus, so we travel separate. The Travel lasted 24 hr, but we cant arrived to our home.
